Carol Jean Johnston Roth, age 59, of Richview, Illinois, passed away at 10:06 A.M. on Thursday, September 1, 2016, at her home with her family by her side.  She was born on February 2, 1957 in Herrin, Illinois, the daughter of William and Jean (Webster) Howell.  She married Terry Ray Roth on February 18, 2000 in Benton, Illinois and he survives her in Richview, Illinois.                             
In addition to her husband of 16 years, Mrs. Roth is survived by her son Heath Johnston and special friend Laura Smith of West Frankfort, Illinois, 4 grandchildren, two sisters, Robin Wagner of West Frankfort, Illinois and Lisa McPherson of Christopher, Illinois and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

 

Mrs. Roth was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Keisha Lynn Thompson Rapp and sisters, Kathy and Lorie Wagner.

Mrs. Roth was of the Protestant faith.  She enjoyed life to its fullest, especially in her younger years when she loved to ride motorcycles.  She graduated with the Johnston City High School's “Class of 1975.”  She cherished the time she spent with her family especially her husband and furry friend, Izzy.

Mrs. Roth was a homemaker and housewife.  In her earlier years, she was the owner of the River 8 Bar in Christopher, Illinois.  She has lived in Richview, Illinois for 9 years and formerly lived in Christopher, Illinois.

As per Mrs. Roth's wishes, she will be cremated.  There will be no public visitation or services.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Roth's memory to the American Cancer Society and will be received at the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois.  Please view the online obituary, send condolences or share memories with Mrs. Roth's family at www.moranfuneralhome.net or on Facebook.
