Darlene G. (Cole) Lance

Darlene G. Lance, age 76, of Maryville, Illinois, formerly of Walnut Hill, Illinois, passed away at 8:35 P.M. on Monday, March 14, 2016 at HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Belleville, Illinois.  She was born on April 26, 1939 in Centralia, Illinois, the daughter of Lester and Blanche (Hoffstetter) Cole.  She married James M. Lance on September 7, 1957 in Centralia, Illinois and he preceded her in death on February 12, 1998.

Mrs. Lance is survived by her three sons, John Troy Lance of Ashley, Illinois, Len Del Lance of Salem, Illinois and Boyd Dean Lance and wife Tracy of Edwardsville, Illinois, one daughter, Stacy Rae Croan and husband David of Belleville, Illinois, 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband of 40 years, Mrs. Lance was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Lester “Bus” Cole and Lloyd Cole, sister Edna Mae McKenzie and baby sister, Blanche Cole.

Mrs. Lance enjoyed riding around and looking at the beauty of the countryside.  She cherished the time she spent with her family especially watching her grandchildren play sports.

Mrs. Lance retired in 1998 as a respiratory therapist from Crossroads Hospital in Mt. Vernon, Illinois and she was previously employed with St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia, Illinois.  She was a graduate of Centralia Township High School in Centralia, Illinois.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois with Pastor Mark Doane officiating.  Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Centralia, Illinois.  Friends may call from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois.  Please view the online obituary, send condolences or share memories with Mrs. Lance’s family at www.moranfuneralhome.net or on Facebook.
