Deborah A. Finley, age 58, of Hoffman, Illinois, passed away at 8:20 p.m. on Friday, September 9, 2016, at her home with her family by her side.  She was born on February 17, 1958 in San Antonio, Texas, the daughter of William O., Jr. and Patricia L. (Nichols) Smith.  She married Dennis Finley on February 18, 1977 in Decatur, Illinois and they later divorced.

Mrs. Finley is survived by her son, Joshua Finley and wife Christina of Mount Vernon, Illinois, daughter, Amanda “Mandy” Peebles and husband Mike of Hoffman, Illinois, 8 grandchildren, Devin, Alyssa and Addisyn Finley and Kayla, Micah, Jeannette, Ethan and Madisyn Peebles, mother, Patricia Nichols of Centralia, Illinois, father, William O. Smith, Jr. of Seguin, Texas, sister, Jean Beard and husband William of Rockford, Illinois, brothers, Joel A. Smith and wife Karen of Bryant, Arkansas and Matthew S. Smith and wife Elaine of Garland, Texas and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Finley was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, John E. Nichols and Clara Jonas Nichols Landy, paternal grandparents, William O. Smith, Sr. and Josephine (Sarau) Smith..Mrs. Finley was born and raised in the Catholic faith, in which she received the sacraments of communion and confirmation.  She enjoyed her arts and crafts.  She loved animals of all kinds, but dogs were her favorite animal.  She also had a wonderful sense of humor.  She cherished the time she spent with her family and friends.

Mrs. Finley was a homemaker for many years.  Later in life, she worked at the Centralia Fireside House and then Centralia Manor for 2 years.  She lived in Hoffman, Illinois for 11 years and was formerly of Centralia, Illinois.

As per Mrs. Finley’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded.  A private Celebration of Life Services will be held at a later date for her family.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Finley’s memory to the American Cancer Society or Centralia Humane Society and will be received at the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois.
