Donald Wayne “Speedy” DeClue, Sr., age 40, of Centralia, Illinois, passed away on Monday, February 20, 2017 in Wamac, Illinois.  He was born on May 9, 1976 in Centralia, Illinois, the son of Donald L. and Janet (Miller) DeClue. 

Mr. DeClue is survived by his sons: Donald E.W. DeClue, Jr. and wife Brittney of Centralia, Illinois and Luke DeClue of Centralia, Illinois and their mother, Chrystal Atchison of Centralia, Illinois, daughter, Braylin DeClue of Centralia, Illinois and step-daughter, Paige Lewis of Centralia, Illinois and their mother, Sherri Oetjen of Centralia, Illinois, granddaughter, Brooklynn J. DeClue of Centralia, Illinois, mother, Janet DeClue of Centralia, Illinois, five brothers, Jason DeClue and wife Tabitha of Centralia, Illinois, Roy Higgins and wife Nadine of Arkansas, Gary Higgins and fiancée Tiffany of Centralia, Illinois, David Higgins of Arkansas and Earl Higgins of Centralia, Illinois, three sisters, Debbie Carter and husband Roy of St. Louis, Missouri, Kim Clark of Arkansas and Marie Taylor and husband Squeek of Shobonier, Illinois and best friend, Mac Foutch of Centralia, Illinois.

Mr. DeClue was preceded in death by his father, Donald L. DeClue.    

Mr. DeClue enjoyed racing derby cars.  He loved riding his Harley motorcycle.  He cherished the time he spent with family and friends.  As it was said by his son, “he was a loving man.  He was a friend to most, respected by all.”

Mr. DeClue was a sandblaster for the Atchison Coating Company in the oil fields for 15 years. He was also a mechanic for LD’s Automotive in Centralia, Illinois for many years.  He lived most of his life in Centralia, Illinois and formerly lived in Shobonier, Illinois.
