Donald Ray “Don” Marshall, age 65, of Centralia, Illinois, passed away at 10:03 A.M. on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at SSM Health St. Mary Hospital in Centralia, Illinois with his family by his side.  He was born on May 11, 1952 in Centralia, Illinois, the son of Thelma (Wilkey) Marshall. He married Adoracion “Sandra” Buesa on July 23, 1974 in the Philippines and she survives him in Centralia, Illinois.

In addition to his loving wife of 43 years, Mr. Marshall is survived by his three sisters, Margaret Sue Wooters and husband Earl of Centralia, Illinois, Debbie Ioerger and husband Frank of Centralia, Illinois and Cheryle Donaldson and husband Mark of Vandalia, Illinois; sister-in-law, Miriam Ilbery and husband Rick of Centralia, Illinois; brother-in-law, Daniel Buesa and wife Stella of Philippines; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

Mr. Marshall was preceded in death by his mother and brothers, Terry Marshall and Jim Marshall.

Mr. Marshall was a U.S. Marine serving his country during the Vietnam War. He also served in the 476th Replacement Detachment of the U.S. Army Reserve in Centralia, Illinois, retiring as a Master Sergeant on May 11, 2012. He loved his sports, watching the St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Rams. He enjoyed fishing and golfing. He cherished the time he spent with his wife, Sandra, especially going out to eat with her.

Mr. Marshall was a security guard at Kaskaskia College for 8 years. He was a patrolman for the Centralia Police Department from January 24, 1983 to April 23, 2008, retiring in 2008 after 25 years of service to the Centralia community. He was a Field Training Officer involved in training new officers on the police department. He has lived all of his life in Centralia, Illinois.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, September 1, 2017, at the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois with Pastor Tim Mondy officiating.  Military Honors will be accorded by the Centralia American Legion Post 446 and V.F.W. Post 2055 at the funeral home.  Friends are invited to visit with Mr. Marshall's family from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 31, 2017, and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services at 11:00 A.M. on Friday at the funeral home. A Police Officer walk through will be conducted at 4:45 P.M. on Thursday, August 31, 2017. Memorials may be made in Mr. Marshall's memory to the Centralia Church of the Nazarene and may be received by the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois.
