JoAnn (Skibinski) Cooper

JoAnn Cooper, age 75, of Richview, Illinois, passed away at 10:23 A.M. on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. She was born on Monday, December 2, 1940 in Richview, Illinois, the daughter of Harold Eugene and Margaret (Friend) Skibinski.  She married Charles Peter “Pete” Cooper on September 19, 1959 in Richview, Illinois and he preceded her in death on June 13, 2014.

Mrs. Cooper is survived by her son, Charles Phillip “Phil” Cooper of Woodlawn, Illinois, grandchildren, Amanda, Tiffany and Jaylynn, 4 great grandchildren and adopted daughter, Robin Hoercher of Woodlawn, Illinois.

In addition to her husband of 54 years, Mrs. Cooper was preceded in death by her parents, infant granddaughter, father-in-law, Charles Philip Cooper and mother-in-law, Mildred Cooper.  

Mrs. Cooper was a member of the Richview United Methodist Church in Richview, Illinois.  She cherished the time she spent with her family.

Mrs. Cooper was a hostess for Wendy’s Restaurant in Mount Vernon, Illinois for 3 years until her stroke in April of 2015.  She has lived in Richview, Illinois for 21 years.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at the Richview United Methodist Church in Richview, Illinois with Pastor Dennis Gambill.  Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday  at the Richview United Methodist Church.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Richview United Methodist Church and will be received at the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois.  Please view the online obituary, send condolences or share memories with Mrs. Cooper’s family at www.moranfuneralhome.net or on Facebook.
