Laurita “Rita” Rohlfing, age 91, of Centralia, Illinois, passed away at 6:37 P.M. on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital in Centralia, Illinois. She was born on August 7, 1924 in Centralia, Illinois, the daughter of Henry and Ida (Myers) Rapp. She married William Rohlfing, Jr. on September 1, 1944 in Morganfield, Kentucky and he preceded her in death on September 26, 2014.
Mrs. Rohlfing is survived by her daughter, Debbie Jones and husband Chris of St. Peters, Missouri, son, William Wayne Rohlfing of Centralia, Illinois, grandson, Jason Peters and finance Julie Baker and great grandson to be, Oleg Baker of St. Charles, Missouri, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
In addition to her husband of 70 years, Mrs. Rohlfing was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Wilford Rapp, Darold Rapp, Richard Rapp, sisters, Edith Cheely, Mildred Peper, Vera Brewer, Edna Fleener, Dorothy Newkirk and Miladine Rapp, sisters-in-law, Lola Rapp and Mary Rapp and brothers-in-law, Clayton Cheely, George Peper and Frazier Newkirk.
Mrs. Rohlfing was a member of the New Harmony Baptist Church in Centralia, Illinois. She liked cooking and baking. She mostly cherished having fellowship with her family and friends. Mrs. Rohlfing was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and aunt who enjoyed the time she spent with her loved ones.
Mrs. Rohlfing was a housewife and homemaker. She lived most of her life in the Centralia area, but enjoyed the time raising her young family in Arizona.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois with Pastor Ray Tackett and Mrs. Rhonda Rhodes officiating. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Centralia, Illinois. Friends may call from 12:00 P.M. until the time of services at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois. Memorial Contributions may be made in Mrs. Rohlfing's memory to the New Harmony Baptist Church and will be received at the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois.
