Marilyn Jane Webster, age 88, of Centralia, Illinois, passed away at 5:45 A.M. on Sunday, October 23 2016, at Centralia Manor in Centralia, Illinois. She was born on October 24, 1927 in Centralia, Illinois, the daughter of Wendell Wybrow and Faye Virginia (Maxwell) Webster.

Ms. Webster is survived by her sister, Millicent Webster of Centralia, Illinois and cousin, Charles Webster of Dallas, Texas.

Ms. Webster was preceded in death by her parents and two cousins, Bob Hutchison and Eugene Hutchison.

Ms. Webster was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Centralia, Illinois, where she taught Sunday School Class. She later attended the First United Presbyterian Church in Centralia, Illinois. She loved jazz, classical and opera music. She liked to shop and a good glass of wine. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and a collector of teddy bears. She graduated with the Centralia Township High School's “Class of 1945.” She later attended the Centralia Junior College in Centralia, Illinois and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Education from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. She was involved with the committee to organize the “Class of 1944/45” reunions and preserve the Trout Gymnasium and its stained glass window.

Ms. Webster was a school teacher in Xenia, Louisville and then taught fifth grade at the Douglas Elementary School in Belleville, Illinois from 1968 until her retirement in June of 1982. After her retirement, she returned to live her life in Centralia, Illinois. She then worked part-time at the Centralia Regional Libary.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Elmwood Cemetery in Centralia, Illinois with Reverend Tommy Henegar officiating. Family and friends are asked to go directly to the cemetery on Thursday. There will be no public visitation. Memorial contributions may be made in Ms. Webster's memory to the Salvation Army and will be received at the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois.
