Marlene Gale “Cookie” Rollinson, age 69, of Centralia, Illinois, passed away at 2:30 A.M. on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at Odin Healthcare Center in Odin, Illinois with her family by her side.  She was born on July 29, 1947 in Centralia, Illinois, the daughter of Betty Patton and she was raised by her grandmother, Ruth Patton.  She married Berthel Junior “Bert” Rollinson on October 13, 1964 in Centralia, Illinois and he survives her in Centralia, Illinois.

In addition to her loving husband of 51 years, Mrs. Rollinson is survived by her son Mark Rollinson and wife Misty of Centralia, Illinois, daughter, Michelle Berry and husband Matt of Charleston, Illinois, granddaughters, Ashley Niepoetter and husband Ricky, Lindsie Rollinson, Kayla Dagg and husband Patrick, Brooke Rollinson and Emma Rollinson, great-grandchildren, Gage, Rheagan, Trinity, Adler, Carter, Perry and Raider, brother, Ron Petrea, and numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends including special friends, Edna Glenn, Sharon Belcher, Glen and Vivian Winkler and Don and Sandra Sandy.

Mrs. Rollinson was preceded in death by her parents and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Mrs. Rollinson was a long time member of Eternity Baptist Church in Centralia, Illinois, where she was an active member of the congregation.  She taught many Sunday School and Vacation Bible School Classes over the years at the church.  She attended the Centralia Township High School.  She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and always cheered them on.  She enjoyed thrift shopping with her husband.  Mrs. Rollinson was willing to help anyone in need and enjoyed making crafts and giving them away to her friends.  She loved her animals including her cats.  As it was said by her family, “she will be missed for her Big Heart and generosity, but mostly for her smile and witty sense of humor.” She cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her granddaughters and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Rollinson worked at many different places in the community including 15 years at the Happy Hour Laundry in Centralia, Illinois before beginning her career at the Warren G. Murray Developmental Center in Centralia, Illinois.  She was a cottage technician at Murray Center from September of 1993 until October of 2004. She has lived all of her life in Centralia, Illinois.

A Celebration of Life Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 24, 2016, at the Eternity Baptist Church in Centralia, Illinois with Pastor Karl Barnfield officiating.  A Memorial Gathering for Family and Friends will be held from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the services at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 24, 2016, at the Eternity Baptist Church in Centralia, Illinois.  Memorial Contributions may be made in Mrs. Rollinson’s memory to the DASH No Kill Shelter in Centralia, Illinois or Carpenters for Christ and will be received at the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois.  Please view the online obituary, send condolences or share memories with Mrs. Rollinson’s family at www.moranfuneralhome.net or on Facebook.
