RoseMary Heard

RoseMary Heard, age 89, of Centralia, Illinois, passed away at 9:35 P.M. on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at SSM Health St. Mary Hospital in Centralia, Illinois with her husband by her side. She was born on October 14, 1927 in Coal City, Illinois, the daughter of Andrew and Martha (Pastore) Berta. She married Forrest Murry Heard on November 7, 1969 in Joliet, Illinois and he survives her in Centralia, Illinois.

In addition to her loving husband of 47 years, Mrs. Heard is survived by her daughter, Deborah Sanders and husband Kurt of Scottsdale, Arizona and granddaughter, RoseMary Sanders of Scottsdale, Arizona.

Mrs. Heard was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, James Berta, William Berta, Andrew Berta and Joseph Berta.

Mrs. Heard was of the Catholic faith. She enjoyed cooking and was considered to be a gourmet cook by her husband, family and friends. She took fabulous trips with her husband to over one hundred countries and had been to six of the seven continents. Mrs. Heard never met a stranger and was loved by everyone. She cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her granddaughter and namesake, RoseMary Sanders.

Mrs. Heard worked hard with her husband as a bookkeeper for Channahon Standard in Channahon, Illinois from 1965 to 1996 and Murry's Restaurant in Channahon, Illinois from 1975 to 1996. She lived in Centralia, Illinois since 1996 and previously lived in Joliet, Illinois for 30 years.

As per Mrs. Heard's wishes, cremation rites will be accorded by the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois. There will be no visitation or services.
