ClaraLee (Jarvis) Sherl

ClaraLee Sherl, age 93, of Centralia, Illinois, passed away at 2:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 25, 2018, at her home in Centralia, Illinois with her loving family by her side.  She was born on April 27, 1925 in Central City, Illinois, the daughter of the late John William and Bertha May (Cornelius) Jarvis.  She married Leslie “Pete” Sherl on August 8, 1946 in Centralia, Illinois and he preceded her in death on August 28, 2017.

Mrs. Sherl is survived by her sons, William Sherl of Centralia, Illinois and Rick Sherl and special friend Tonya of Centralia, Illinois; five grandchildren, Angela Hornaday and husband Ed, Justin Sherl and fiancee April Minton, Seth Sherl and husband Josh, Kristen Schnur and Calli Smith and husband Nick; eight great-grandchildren, Kayla, Cody, Daniel, Ava, Cameron, Jaxon, Brendan and Liam and loads and loads of “neighborhood” non-related nieces and nephews who called her “Aunt ClaraLee”.

In addition to her husband of 71 years, Mrs. Sherl was preceded in death by her parents and daughters-in-law, Teena Sherl and Dayna Sherl.

Mrs. Sherl was a housewife and homemaker.  She was really in love with her husband Pete.  She traveled with her husband in their RV to every state in the United States except for Hawaii and Alaska.  Mrs. Sherl cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her kids and grandkids.  She lived in Centralia, Illinois since 1946.

Words of Remembrance for Mrs. ClaraLee Sherl will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois.  Interment will follow in Mt. Evergreen Cemetery in Central City, Illinois.  Friends are invited to visit with Mrs. Sherl’s family from 9:30 A.M. until the time of services at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Sherl's memory to the American Cancer Societyand will be received by the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois.  Please view the online obituary, send condolences or share memories with Mrs. Sherl's family at www.moranfuneralhome.net or on the funeral home’s Facebook page.
