Doris Maye Livesay Croan, age 88, of Irvington, Illinois, passed away at 5:20 A.M. on Monday, March 26, 2018, at Centralia Manor in Centralia, Illinois. She was born on February 14, 1930 in Garrett, Illinois, the daughter of the late Homer L and Lena L. (Murray) Livesay. She married Melvin Dewayne Croan on September 13, 1952 in Irvington, Illinois and he survives her in Irvington, Illinois.
In addition to her loving husband of 65 years, Mrs. Croan is survived by her brother, Delbert Livesay of Centralia, Illinois, sisters, Velda Boyer of Cedar Hill, Missouri and Janice Livesay of St. Louis, Missouri; half sister, Josephine Myers of Centralia, Illinois; half brothers, Lowell Thomas Livesay of Sherman, Missouri and George W. Livesay of Sherman, Missouri; niece, Terri Livesay Huttes and husband Randy of Port Charlotte, Florida; nephew, Chris Livesay and wife Trish of Walnut Hill, Illinois and several great nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Croan was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Kathleen Croan; brother, Harlen Livesay; step-sister, Helen Smith and nephew, Mike Livesay.
Mrs. Croan was a member of the Irvington United Methodist Church in Irvington, Illinois. She was a member of the Telephone Company Pioneers. She was a Pink Lady at St. Mary’s Hospital. She loved gardening and taking care of her animals, including her cats and wild birds. She enjoyed reading and going to the lake house on Centralia Lake to boat with her husband. She cherished the time she spent with her husband, especially traveling around the world with him.
Mrs. Croan retired in 1988 as a supervisor and operator after 39 years of service with AT&T and Illinois Bell Telephone Company. She has lived her whole life in Irvington, Illinois.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 29, 2018, at Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois with Pastor Anita Munden officiating. Interment will follow in Richview Cemetery in Richview, Illinois. Friends may call from 11:30 A.M until the time of services at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 29, 2018, at Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois.
