Dorothy Neudecker Obituary

Dorothy Jane Neudecker, age 96, of Centralia, Illinois, passed away at 2:21 A.M. on Sunday, May 20, 2018, at Centralia Manor in Centralia, Illinois.  She was born on January 30, 1922 in Marion, Illinois, the daughter of the late Arlie Paul and Pearl May (Ward) Butts.  She married Earl Oliver Neudecker on October 30, 1942 in Reno, Nevada and he preceded her in death on January 15, 2011.    

Mrs. Neudecker is survived by her son, Steven Earl Neudecker of Marion, Illinois; daughter, Jane Lee Rugowski and husband David of Mount Vernon, Illinois; grandchildren, Kristan Amore and husband Scott of Carpentersville, Illinois and Ian Anthony Ranmar of Phoenix, Arizona; great-grandchildren, Mia Alyssa Amore of Carpentersville, Illinois and Aidan Anthony Ranmar of Phoenix, Arizona; brother, John Butts and wife Judy of Galena, Illinois and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband of 68 years, Mrs. Neudecker was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Burton Butts and aunt, Edith Fox.

Mrs. Neudecker was a member of the First Baptist Church in Centralia, Illinois, where she was a member of the Couples Class.  She was a member of the Centralia V.F.W Post 2055 Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Neudecker enjoyed being in the outdoors and loved to camp and travel with her husband.  She loved to play Pinochle with her friends.  She cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her grandkids.  She was a part of her children’s life as she was a leader while her daughter was in Girl Scouts.

Mrs. Neudecker retired as a cafeteria worker from the Centralia High School in Centralia, Illinois after many years of service.  Earlier in life, she was a General Motors bookkeeper at Langenfeld Chevrolet in Centralia, Illinois.  She graduated with the Centralia Township High School’s Class of 1940.  She has lived in Centralia, Illinois since 1936 and formerly lived in Marion, Illinois.

A Funeral Service for Mrs. Dorothy Jane Nuedecker will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, May 25, 2018, at Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois with Pastor Brian High officiating.  Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park near Centralia, Illinois.  Family and friends are asked to meet with Mrs. Neudecker’s family from 9:30 A.M. until the time of services at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, May 25, 2018, at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Neudecker’s honor to the First Baptist Church in Centralia, Illinois and will be received by the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois.  Please view the online obituary, send condolences or share memories with Mrs. Neudecker’s family at www.moranfuneralhome.net or on the funeral home’s Facebook page.
