Evelyn Kehder Obituary

Evelyn Laura Kehder, age 81, of Centralia, Illinois, formerly of Belleville, Illinois, passed away at 7:00 P.M. on Friday, February 9, 2018, at Carlyle Healthcare Center in Carlyle, Illinois, with her loving family by her side.  She was born on October 25, 1936, in Breese, Illinois, the daughter of the late Burton and Helen V. (Koch) Jarvis.  She married Albert A. Kehder on February 4, 1955 in Laredo, Texas and he preceded her in death on September 8, 2001.

Mrs. Kehder is survived by her son, Ronald Kehder and wife Cara of Albers, Illinois; daughters, Vicki Laquet and husband Daniel of Centralia, Illinois and Lisa Smith and husband Jerry of Belleville, Illinois; grandchildren, Adam Laquet and wife Amber, Sarah Laquet Harrison and husband Luke, Jon Kehder and wife Meghan, Michelle Kehder Sanford, Deanna Kehder and John Athmer and Jacob Kehder; great-grandchildren, Tristan Harrison, Savannah Harrison, Quinten Kehder, Peiten Kehder, Braxten Kehder, Madison Athmer, Avery Athmer and Emery Athmer and special uncle and aunt, Donald Koch and Esther Koch. 

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Kehder was preceded in death by her husband and infant son, John A. Kehder.

Mrs. Kehder was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Centralia, Illinois.  She was a former member of St. Augustine of Canterbury in Belleville, Illinois, where she taught CCD classes for 25 years.  She baked for the noon lunches and card parties that were held at the church.  She was an auxiliary member of the Ursuline Sisters in Belleville, Illinois.  Mrs. Kedher was a Pink Lady at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, Illinois.  She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and greatly enjoyed bingo.  She cherished the time she spent with her family and loved her children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Kedher was a housewife and homemaker.  She was a home-based cake decorator in Belleville, Illinois for 15 years.  She also served as a home technician for Addus Home Health Care in Belleville, Illinois.  She has lived in Centralia, Illinois since 2012 and formerly lived in Belleville, Illinois.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Evelyn Laura Kehder will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, February 15, 2018, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Centralia, Illinois with Father Dale Maxfield officiating.  Friends may call from 8:30 A.M. until the time of Mass at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, February 15, 2018, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Centralia, Illinois.  Inurnment in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery in Beckemeyer, Illinois at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Kehder’s honor to the Hospice of Southern Illinois or St. Mary Catholic Church and will be received at the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois.  Please view the online obituary, send condolences or share memories with Mrs. Kehder’s family at www.moranfuneralhome.net or on the funeral home’s Facebook page.
