Lori Ann (Black) Scammahorn

Lori Ann Scammahorn, age 52, of Centralia, Illinois, passed away at 12:46 P.M. on Sunday, January 21, 2018, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in Saint Louis, Missouri.  She was born on September 26, 1965 in Centralia, Illinois, the daughter of the late Robert and Donna Jean (Sigler) Black.  She married John Wayne Scammahorn on September 21, 1996 in Olney, Illinois and he survives her in Centralia, Illinois.

In addition to her husband of 21 years, Mrs. Scammahorn is survived by her sons, John Wayne Scammahorn, Jr. of Centralia, Illinois and Remingten “Ray Ray” Scammahorn of Centralia, Illinois; stepson, Justin Lee Scammahorn Brentley of Vandalia, Illinois; aunt, Vonda Brothers of Centralia, Illinois; cousins, Linda Briggs and husband Jeff of Centralia, Illinois, Terri Rogers Kuester of Centralia, Illinois and Patti Ruche and husband Tom of Washington State; brothers-in-law, Douglas Scammahorn of Parsons, Kansas and Russel R. Scammahorn, Jr. of Evansville, Indiana; sister-in-law, Lanalee Jo Weesner-Thomas of Evansville, Indiana and best friend Elizabeth Peoples of Centralia, Illinois.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Scammahorn was preceded in death by her cousins, Harold “Sonny” Brothers, Michael Brothers and Gary D. Brothers, mother-in-law, Enid Irene (Clark) Scammahorn Purcell and father-in-law, Russell Ray Scammahorn, Sr.

Mrs. Scammahorn enjoyed sitting and playing computer games on her tablet.  She loved going out junking and yard sailing with her children.  She cherished the time she spent with her family. She is being remembered as a loving mother and wife.

Mrs. Scammahorn was formerly employed in the housekeeping department at Fireside House of Centralia.  Earlier in life, she was employed in the laundry department at the Olney Rehabilitation Center and was a dishwasher and food preparer at the Olney Elks BPOE Lodge 926.  She lived most of her life in Centralia, Illinois.
