Marvin Riechman Obituary

Marvin Eugene Riechman, age 86, of rural Irvington, Illinois, passed away at 11:50 A.M. on Tuesday, October 30, 2018, at Centralia Manor in Centralia, Illinois, with his family by his side. He was born on December 5, 1931, in Wamac, Illinois, the son of the late Chris and Lydia (Koelling) Riechman.  He married Dolores Jean Armstrong on Thanksgiving Day on November 26, 1964, at the United Methodist Church in Irvington, Illinois, and she survives him in rural Irvington. 

In addition to his loving wife of 53 years, Mr. Riechman is survived by his son, Greg Allan Riechman of O’Fallon, Illinois, and his special friend Jolene Albers of Aviston, Illinois.  

Mr. Riechman was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert Riechman; sister-in-law, Ellen Riechman; sister, Evelyn Witte; brother-in-law, Willard Witte and nephew Mark Witte.

Mr. Riechman was very actively involved with the Friedens United Church of Christ in Irvington, Illinois, where he was a former member of the Men’s Brotherhood.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving his country during the Korean Conflict.  Mr. Riechman was a former member of the Irvington Ruritan Club and the Cancer Support Group in Centralia, Illinois.  He cherished the time he spent with family.

Mr. Riechman tended to his family farm all of his life.  He and his wife were co-owners of D & M Ceramics in rural Irvington for many years.  He was a life-long resident of rural Irvington, Illinois.

Celebration of Life Services for Mr. Marvin Eugene Riechman will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, November 2, 2018, at Friedens United Church of Christ in Irvington, Illinois, with Pastor Stacy Tate officiating.  Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park near Centralia, Illinois, with Military Honors accorded by the Centralia American Legion Post 446 and the Centralia V.F.W. Post 2055.

Friends may visit with Mr. Riechman’s family from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 1, 2018, at Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois, and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, November 2, 2018, at Friedens United Church of Christ in Irvington, Illinois.
