Velda Orlene (Livesay) Boyer

Velda Orlene Boyer, age 89, of Cedar Hill, Missouri, passed away at 3:18 P.M. on Sunday, September 2 2018, at Big River Nursing and ReHab Center in Cedar Hill, Missouri.  She was born on December 27, 1928 in Hoyleton, Illinois, the daughter of the late Homer L. and Lena L. (Murray) Livesay.

Mrs. Boyer is survived by her son, Dwayne Boyer and wife Chris of Cedar Hill, Missouri; daughter, Theresa Harris and husband Martin of Cedar Hill, Missouri; grandchildren, Marty Harris of Cedar Hill, Missouri, Tiffany Harris of Cedar Hill, Missouri and Sara Miller and husband Jeff of Caseyville, Illinois; great-grandchildren, Constance Harris and Destiny Harris; 1 great-great-granddaughter; brother, Delbert Livesay of Centralia, Illinois; sister, Janice Livesay of St. Louis, Missouri; half sister, Josephine Myers of Centralia, Illinois; half brothers, Lowell Thomas Livesay of Sherman, Missouri and George W. Livesay of Sherman, Missouri and several nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces.

Mrs. Boyer was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Harlen Livesay; sister, Doris Maye Croan; step-sister, Helen Smith; nephew, Mike Livesay and niece, Kathleen Croan.

Mrs. Boyer retired in 1975 as a sales clerk and manager from Stix Baer & Fuller Department Store in Clayton, Missouri after many years of service.  She enjoyed tending to her flower garden and cooking and sharing her favorite meals with her family and friends.  She loved the companionship of her pets.  Mrs. Boyer cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her children and grandchildren.  She lived in Cedar Hill, Missouri for 15 years and formerly lived in Irvington, Illinois.

Celebration of Life Services of Mrs. Velda O. Boyer will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Saturday, September 8, 2018, at the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois with Pastor Anita Munden officiating.  Interment will follow in Richview Cemetery in Richview, Illinois.  Friends are invited to visit with Mrs. Boyer's family from 12:00 P.M. until the time of services at 1:30 P.M. at the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois.  Please view the online obituary, send condolences or share memories with Mrs. Boyer's family at www.moranfuneralhome.net or on the funeral home’s Facebook page.
