Albert Allen Obituary

Albert Lee Allen, age 82, of Odin, Illinois, passed away at 4:46 P.M. on Friday, November 20, 2020 at Fireside House of Centralia with his loving wife by his side.  He was born on August 26, 1938 in Pana, Illinois, the son of Jack and Bessie (Harlow) Allen.  He married Barbara Rose Sprague on September 30, 1978, in Pana, Illinois and she survives him in Odin, Illinois.

In addition to his loving wife of 42 years, Mr. Allen is survived by his son, Randy Allen; sister, Norma Jean Akins of Pana, Illinois; many grandkids and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Allen was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Allen and Bessie Allen; daughter, Debbie Allen; brothers, Floyd Thomas Allen and Charles William Allen and sisters, Helen Marie Bland, Alda Mae Jarrett, Velma Perlene Kamill, Alberta Peach Jenkins and Charlotte Ann Taylor.

Mr. Allen was of the Baptist faith.  He loved being in the outdoors fishing and camping.  He enjoyed watching westerns.  He cherished the time he spent with his grandkids.

Mr. Allen was employed with DORS Rehabilitation in Mount Vernon, Illinois, where he was able to take care of the elderly in the community.  He would take care of the elderly by cooking, cleaning, and driving them to their doctor’s appointment.  He formerly worked in various factories in the area.  He lived in Odin, Illinois since 1986 and previously lived in Pana, Illinois.
