Dorothy Geilhausen Obituary

Dorothy Jean Geilhausen, age 89, of Saint Peters, Missouri, formerly of Centralia, Illinois, passed away at 8:10 A.M. on Wednesday, October 2, 2019, at her home in Saint Peters, Missouri.

She was born on September 9, 1930, at home on Poplar Street in Centralia, Illinois, the daughter of the late Charles Thomas and Grace Lucinda (Kelley) Morgan.  She married William Joseph Geilhausen on November 11, 1950, at the First Baptist Church in Centralia, Illinois and he preceded her in death on February 17, 2001.

Mrs. Geilhausen is survived by her daughter, Cindy Jo Robinson of Centralia, Illinois; son, Mike Geilhausen of Saint Louis, Missouri; grandchildren, Jonathan Robinson and wife Justine of Saint Peters, Missouri and Casey Reed and husband Phil of Chesterfield, Missouri; great-grandchildren, Joseph Robinson, Lilith Robinson and Penelope Reed; sister, Norma Bryant of Wisconsin; special nephew, Jerry Morgan of Biloxi, Mississippi and life long friends, Bob and Lynn Stonecipher of Centralia, Illinois.

In addition to her loving husband of 50 years, Mrs. Geilhausen was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Howard Morgan and Lester Morgan.

Mrs. Geilhausen was a member of the First Baptist Church in Centralia, Illinois.  She was an avid bowler and played on many different leagues.  She enjoyed collecting her dolls and antiques.  She was a fan of the Saint Louis Cardinals.  Mrs. Geilhausen cherished the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She attended her grandchildren’s sporting and academic events and was known by many as the team’s grandmother.

Mrs. Geilhausen was an office manager for Geilhausen Plumbing & Heating Company from 1952 until her retirement in 2001.  She is remembered by her children as always working with her husband and taking care of her family.  She graduated with Centralia Township High School’s “Class of 1948”.  She lived in Saint Peters, Missouri for the last 14 months of her life and formerly lived in Centralia, Illinois for most of her life.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 5, 2019, at the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois with Pastor Brian High officiating.  Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park near Centralia, Illinois.  Family and friends are invited to visit with Mrs. Geilhausen’s family from 11:00 A.M. until the time of services at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 5, 2019, at Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home.  Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Geilhausen’s memory to CCBA Food Pantry in Centralia, Illinois and will be received by the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois.  Please view the online obituary, send condolences or share memories with Mrs. Geilhausen’s family at www.moranfuneralhome.net or on the funeral home’s Facebook page.
