Micah Shane True, age 43, of Salem, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2020, at his home in Salem, Illinois. He was born on February 11, 1977 in Sparta, Illinois, the son of Ricky Joe and Alice Faye (Montgomery) True.
Micah is survived by his father, Ricky Joe True and fiancee Bobbie Vaughn of Richview, Illinois; sons, Easton Shane True and Jett True; daughter, Jayla Marie True; close friend, Toni Hays and her children, Ashlyn and Jada of Salem, Illinois; brother, Jason True and wife Jennifer of Centralia, Illinois; nephew, Carson True of Centralia, Illinois; uncles, Raymond Montgomery and wife Sandy of Coulterville, Illinois, Dale Hill of Pinckneyville, Illinois and Mike True of Woodlawn, Illinois; aunt, Patricia True of O’Fallon, Illinois and several cousins.
In addition to his mother, Micah was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents and paternal grandparents.
Micah was a member of the Richview United Methodist Church in Richview, Illinois, where he was baptized by Pastor Mark Myers in 1981. He enjoyed fishing. He was happiest when he was working alongside his brother, Jason, who he extremely loved. He was friendly, very likeable and very polite and he always received good comments from the people on his work sites. Micah didn’t know a stranger and was always known to have a good time. He cherished the time he spent with his family, especially his children and visiting and talking with his mother. He loved his children and enjoyed spending time with all the children in his life.
Micah was a carpenter with True Contracting for 20 years. He was formerly a Centralia Volunteer Fireman. He graduated with Centralia High School’s “Class of 1994.” He lived in Salem, Illinois for 6 years and previously lived in Centralia, Illinois and Richview, Illinois.
Private Family Graveside Services for Mr. Micah Shane True will be held at a later date at Richview Cemetery in Richview, Illinois with Pastor Mark Myers officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. True’s memory to the Richview Cemetery and will be received at the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home at 134 South Elm Street in Centralia, Illinois 62801.
