Rosalind Ann “Rose” Krausz, age 93, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 3:20 A.M. on May 28, 2020, at Mount Vernon Health Care Center in Mount Vernon, Illinois. She was born on September 10, 1926, in the family farmhouse in Addieville, Illinois, the daughter of Adolf and Alvina (Wiese) Lichtenfels . She married Clinton Valentine Krausz on August 24, 1946, in Nashville, Illinois and he preceded her in death on September 7, 1983.
Mrs. Krausz is survived by her children; Barbara Frazier of Woodlawn, Illinois, Sandy Houle and husband Steve of Mount Vernon, Illinois and son, Kevin Krausz and wife Paula of Wright City, Illinois; grandchildren, Kyle Carter and wife Jennifer, Aaron Carter and wife Amber, Valerie Bundy and husband Carl, April Lewis and husband Ted, Ashley Krausz and Megan Smith and husband Joe; great-grandchildren, Emma Carter, Ava Carter and Kaiden Smith and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband of 37 years, Mrs. Krausz was preceded in death by her parents, infant sister, Florence Lichtenfels; brothers, Alvin Lichtenfels and Herbert Lichtenfels; sisters, Deline Bartling, Violet Norr, Irene Norr and Bernice Oltman and son-in-law, Brett Frazier.
Mrs. Krausz was a long-time member of Saint Paul United Church of Christ in Nashville, Illinois. She enjoyed working on her Find-A-Word puzzles. She cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her children and grandchildren.
Mrs. Krausz worked part-time in the house cleaning department at Washington County Hospital in Nashville, Illinois for 4 years. Earlier, she was a housewife and farmer’s wife working on the family farm.
Private Family Graveside Services for Mrs. Rosalind Ann “Rose” Krausz will be held with Pastor Beverly Kahle officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park near Centralia, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Krausz’s honor to Mount Vernon Health Care Center, Residential Hospice of Southern Illinois or Charity of Donor’s Choice and may be received by the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home at 134 South Elm Street in Centralia, Illinois.
