Stephen Williams Obituary

Stephen Andrew Williams, age 74, of Hoffman, Illinois, passed away at 3:11 P.M. on Friday, June 2, 2023, at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia, Illinois.  He was born on July 12, 1948, in Salem, Illinois, the son of Floyd “Pat” and Ava (Matthews) Williams.  He married Malinda L. Kindle on June 18, 1979, in Mount Vernon, Illinois, and she preceded him in death on January 22, 2005.  He then married Patricia Lueking on December 2, 2006 in rural Hoffman, Illinois, and she preceded him in death on June 26, 2017.

Stephen is survived by his children, Stephanie Wilton and husband David of Carlyle, Illinois, Emily Griffin and husband Cory of Carlyle, Illinois, Jason Williams and wife Tammy of Centralia, Illinois, and Leanna Williams of Centralia, Illinois; grandchildren, Declan Griffin, Sullivan Griffin, Emma Williams, Aryianna Givens, Zaidyn McClain, Abbiey McGill and husband Michael, and Lauren Kimmel; and his furry special friend, Sandy.

In addition to his wives, Stephen was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd “Pat” Williams and Ava Williams, daughter, Sally Williams, daughter, Angel Klingenberg, and son, Troy Williams.

Stephen was of the Methodist faith.  He was a member of the Centralia Moose Family Center 1219, Centralia Elks B.P.O.E. 493 and Carlyle Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 3523.  Stephen enjoyed sitting out in the backyard with his family and friends, taking in a beverage and eating barbeque.  He loved being outside, especially camping.  Stephen was a good storyteller, and had a good sense of humor, which created a lot of laughter.  He never met a stranger.  Stephen loved his furry friends, Sandy, Ginger, and Diego.  He cherished the time he spent with his family and loved being with his grandkids.

Stephen graduated with Salem High School’s “Class of 1966.”  After graduating from high school, he worked with his father on the family farm.  In the early 1980’s, he started as a truck driver working for various companies throughout the years.  He worked for Beelman Truck Company in Carlyle, Illinois, for 10 years until 2009 when he retired after an accident. He lived in Hoffman, Illinois, and formerly lived in Centralia, Illinois.

Celebration of Life Services for Mr. Stephen Andrew Williams will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 8, 2023, at the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois with Mr. Glen Hulvey officiating. Friends may pay their respects to Mr. Williams, sign the guest book or make a memorial contribution from 4:00 P.M. until the time of services at 6:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 8, 2023, at the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois.  Inurnment will take place in Mt.
