Tammy Gay Alexander, age 54, of Centralia, Illinois, passed away at 8:37 A.M. on Saturday, December 12, 2020, at her home in Centralia, Illinois, with her loving family by her side. She was born on April 25, 1966, in Lyons, New York, the daughter of Donald, Sr. and Lillie Mae (Veitch) Lewis.
Tammy is survived by her significant other of 13 years, John Felty of Centralia, Illinois; daughter, Geneva Alexander of Ewing, Illinois; son, Joseph Alexander of Ewing, Illinois; grandchildren, MacKenzie Duff of Ewing, Illinois, and Kaitlynn Duff of Ewing, Illinois; brother, William “Billy” Lewis of Ontario, Canada; sister, Gail Greeley-Smith of Portland, Oregon and sister-in-law, Deborah Sieling Lewis of Lyons, New York.
Tammy was preceded in death by her parents, Donald Lewis, Sr. and Lillie Mae Lewis; brothers, Joe Lewis, Donnie Lewis and Danny Lewis and sister, Barbara Quick.
Tammy liked quilting and crocheting, making t-shirt quilts and scarfs for her family and friends. She was a loveable lady and a family person. She cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her grandkids. She also enjoyed her alone time.
Tammy was a cashier at Walmart in Centralia, Illinois. She formerly was a drive thru cashier at McDonald’s Eastside Restaurant in Centralia, Illinois and a Certified Nursing Assistant at Fireside House in Centralia, Illinois. She lived in Centralia, Illinois, since 2010 and formerly lived in Sesser, Illinois.
As per Ms. Tammy Gay Alexander’s wishes, there will be no public visitation nor services. Cremation Rites accorded by the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home at 134 South Elm Street in Centralia, Illinois 62801. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ms. Alexander’s honor to the American Cancer Society and will be received by the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois.
