Terry Lee Finley, age 62, of Centralia, Illinois, passed away at 12:50 P.M. on Sunday, April 5, 2020, at Odin HealthCare Center in Odin, Illinois. He was born on October 30, 1957 in Centralia, Illinois, the son of William “Bill” and Ethel (DeSelms) Finley. He married Melody Yates on October 29, 1977, at the Wamac Missionary Baptist Church in Wamac, Illinois, and they later divorced in August of 1989. He married Gidget Crundwell and they later separated.
Terry is survived by his sons, Curtis Finley and special friend Terri Krein of Odin, Illinois and Travis Finley of Odin, Illinois; grandchildren, Carson Lee Finley, Colten Lee Finley and Kyler Lee Finley; brother, Billy Finley and wife Sandra of Centralia, Illinois and sisters, Glenda Sanders and husband Mike of Centralia, Illinois, Patty Berning and husband Jerry of Walnut Hill, Illinois and Janet Huffman and husband Jesse of Noble, Illinois.
In addition to his parents, Terry was preceded in death by his daughter, Tracy Finley and infant brother, Robert Finley.
Terry valued his quiet time out on the water and liked to fish. He enjoyed being out on the road riding his motorcycles and three-wheelers. He liked the time he spent out on the field playing softball. In his younger years, he was somewhat of a car-enthusiast, owning a red “69” Camaro, Mach 1 and lastly a white “69” Camaro. He cherished the time he spent with his family, especially going to the lake for family gatherings.
Terry was a foreman and welder with Big 3 Precision in Centralia, Illinois. Earlier in life, he was a carman with the Illinois Central Railroad, where he worked in the roundhouse. He graduated with Centralia Township High School’s “Class of 1976.” He lived all of his life in Centralia, Illinois.
It was Mr. Finley’s wish to be cremated. There will be no public visitation nor services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Finley’s honor to the American Cancer Society and will be received by the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home at 134 South Elm Street in Centralia, Illinois.
