Terry Lee Stonecipher, age 67, of Irvington, Illinois, passed away at 3:25 A.M. on Sunday, April 15, 2018, at his daughter’s home in Du Quoin, Illinois. He was born on May 24, 1950 in Centralia, Illinois, the son of the late Melvin Robert “Bill” and Virginia “June” (Simer) Stonecipher. He married Judy Ann Borgmann on May 27, 1978 in Carlyle, Illinois and she survives him in Irvington, Illinois.
In addition to his wife of 39 years, Terry is survived by his son, Shaun Stonecipher of Irvington, Illinois; daughter, Lori Griggs and husband Kevin of Du Quoin, Illinois and grandchildren, James Dallas Griggs and Skyler Griggs.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents; baby sister, Bobbi Ruth Stonecipher; grandmother, Vera Fern Simer Dunn and grandfather, Xon Simer.
Terry was a former member of the Centralia Moose Lodge 1219. He loved talking about and watching all St. Louis sports teams, including the St. Louis Blues, St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Soccer. He enjoyed watching television, especially fishing shows. He cherished the companionship of his Yellow Lab, Cosmo.
Terry retired as a totes unloader from Walgreen’s Distribution Center in Mt. Vernon, Illinois after 18 years of service. Earlier in life, he was a production worker at Radiac Abrasives in Salem, Illinois and a production worker in the kitchen at the Hollywood Brand Candy Company/Leaf Candy Company in Centralia, Illinois for 20 years. Mr. Stonecipher graduated with Centralia Township High School’s “Class of 1968." He lived in Irvington, Illinois since 2004, formerly living in Centralia, Illinois for most of his life.
Celebration of Life Services for Mr. Terry Lee Stonecipher will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 19, 2018, at Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois with Mr. Glen Hulvey officiating. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Centralia, Illinois. Friends are asked to meet with Mr. Stonecipher’s family from 12:00 P.M until the time of services at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 19, 2018, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Stonecipher’s honor to the American Cancer Society and will be received by the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois.
