Wanda June (Gerberding) Wylde

Wanda June Wylde, age 79, of Centralia, Illinois, passed away at 11:45 A.M. on Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at her home in Centralia, Illinois.  She was born on June 18, 1939 in Bradley Township. Jackson County, Illinois, the daughter of the late Elmer H. and Mathilda “Tillie” (Rathert) Gerberding.  She married Homer Dean Rieckenberg and they later divorced.

Ms. Wylde is survived by her sons, Michael Rieckenberg and wife Amanda of Minneapolis, Minnesota and David Rieckenberg of Bush, Illinois; daughter, Sandy Rieckenberg of Swansea, Illinois; grandson, Michael G.D. Rieckenberg of Minneapolis, Minnesota and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

Ms. Wylde was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Cindy Trenn; son-in-law, Kevin Trenn and grandchildren, Shawn Trenn, Melissa Trenn, Amy Trenn and Travis Rieckenberg.

Ms. Wylde was of the Lutheran faith.  She loved her animals. She enjoyed crocheting.  She previously worked in a dry cleaners in Murphysboro, Illinois.  She lived in Centralia, Illinois for the last four years of her life and formerly lived in Murphysboro, Illinois for many years.

A Memorial Gathering for Ms. Wanda June Wylde will be held from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ms. Wylde’s honor to the Centralia Humane Society and will be received by the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home at 134 South Elm Street in Centralia, Illinois.  Please view the online obituary, send condolences or share memories with Ms. Wylde’s family at www.moranfuneralhome.net or on the funeral home’s Facebook page.
