William Wayne Rohlfing Obituary

William Wayne Rohlfing, age 70, of Centralia, Illinois, passed away at 9:25 P.M. on Thursday, March 29, 2018, at his home in Centralia, Illinois.  He was born on June 30, 1947 in Centralia, Illinois, the son of the late William, Jr. and Laurita Fern “Rita” (Rapp) Rohlfing.

Mr. Rohlfing is survived by his sister, Debora Janene Jones and husband Chris of Saint Peters, Missouri; nephew, Jason Peters and fiancée Julie Baker of Saint Charles, Missouri and several cousins.

Mr. Rohlfing was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Rohlfing was a member of the New Harmony Baptist Church in Centralia, Illinois.  He enjoyed rifling and archery with his nephew.  He cherished the companionship of his German Shepherd, Fritz.  

Mr. Rohlfing retired as a prison guard from the Centralia Correctional Center in Centralia, Illinois after more than 20 years of service.  He is an U.S. Marine serving his country during the Vietnam War for 13 months.  He lived most of his life in Centralia, Illinois, except for living in Phoenix, Arizona.

Graveside services for Mr. William Wayne Rohlfing will be held at a later date in Elmwood Cemetery in Centralia, Illinois.  Inurnment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Centralia, Illinois.  Cremation rites accorded by the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois.  Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Rohlfing’s memory to the Disabled American Veterans and will be received by the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois.
