Just a short note to let you know Gene's family has been in our thoughts and prayers. I always waited on them when they came in to the Meat Plant for their meat shopping, always checked in Gene's deer for however many years it was etc. Gene was a pleasant person and those memories will always be a treasure for you. I first met Gene at National Auto as a high school kid whose dad & older brother traded with National. I was a regular with the store through those years and later as a businessman til they closed. I am very sorry for your loss.

Was reading the Belleville paper this morning when the name Eugene Schlau caught my eye on the obituary page. Reading it I found that it was your dad Steve. Very sorry to see he passed away. He lived a pretty good long life but it's still hard to lose them. My mom died in February of this year at the age of 95. You miss them a lot. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
