She was a very special person kind and generous. I will miss her as will many others. I knew her mainly while attending college at KC. I was a roomer as she provided a room to stay in when in college. I got to meet many of her family while there. They were very kind and nice people also. While this is alittle late I wanted to send my condolences and remind of her specialness to me and others.

Tom, so sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. I wish I had met her. She sounds a lot like my mom who I lost last year. Next time we meet we need to exchange "mom stories". Take care my friend. Terry

We lived across the street from all the Ashby's in the 60's on Sycamore Street. What a great family. Your mom was a beautiful, sweet lady and you all were blessed to call her mom. God bless all of you.

Mary was already faithfully attending Father Karban's Breese Scripture Class when I began nearly thirty years ago. She was the epitomy of living the gospel message and was truly an inspiration. This precious lady is surely enjoing her eternal reward.

I feel blessed to have Patricia (Patti) as a dear friend since attending St. Mary's Grade School. And I have fond memories of many happy and rambunctious times with the entire Ashby family. Their home was always filled with laughter, activity, teasing, love, and just the right touch of "crazy". And Mary never discouraged any of it, in fact, she seemed delighted by it all. She made any one who visited feel like one of her own. I always felt at home there. Mary's love was the glue that kept it all together. Sending love to all of her dear ones.

Joining the Fr Karban scripture class and meeting Mary has been memorable. She is one of those who brought the Kingdom to be 'at hand' as Jesus said; truly the love of God was her message in word and conduct. What a wonder it has been to be a student with her in our scripture studies. Thank you, Mary.

I was always amazed, just being a neighbor girl, she always remembered me and who I was when she would come to visit the Paxico Kansas relatives. Maybe it was because Rosie's family was my second family and she knew that. My condolences to all of the Ashby family. She was a special lady.

I have very early memories of being at the Ashby home. I hung out with Loretta and Theresa and still love them dearly. Mary was always so hospitable and made sure everyone was taken great care of. I loved eating spaghetti sandwiches and having sweet tea at the Ashby house. She was a beautiful woman inside and out. It's still amazing to me how she raised 11 beautiful children...and with grace. She was a strong willed woman who loved the Lord with all her heart. I will miss her but how sweet it is that she is dancing with the angels and in the midst of our heavenly Father. I love all of you. K

Mary was always a joy to talk with. Such a beautiful lady! She always made us feel as if we were part of her extended family. I will miss her. I can't wait to talk with her in heaven! I sort of hope she is the one who greets me when I go because she will make me feel at home right away and oh my goodness I can only imagine her introducing me around because I know she will know EVERYONE! Heaven is rejoicing right now!!!

Grandma brought so much happiness and love to the family. When you were in her presence, she provided a warm welcome that centered all individuals around faith and togetherness, which I will never forget.
I am so grateful to have all of the memories of her everlasting kindness to motivate me to be the best version of myself in life.
You will always be in my heart Grandma.

When I think of generosity, time for tea, family and faith - Mary Ashby comes into my heart.
I feel truly privileged to be counted as one of her friends throughout my lifetime.
My mother Barb and dad Gene introduced us at St. Mary's.
Even though I live far now, a trip to Centralia was never complete without tea and cookies with Mary.
Thank you to all of you Ashby kids for so generously sharing your mom.

I was so very lucky to have met Mary. She was such a kind lady. I enjoyed visiting with her and wish I could have visited her more often. What a proud lady she was of all of her family. She was such and inspiration to me by her strength and her Catholic faith! God bless you all at this time of loss.

The heart you gave others so demonstrated the daily faith of your religion and all that you were. In a world where many do not even know what a beatitude is, you unassumingly lived this doctrine each day. You were such a gift and I will always remember you that way.

Marys life has come to an end but her memories will last on in the ones that loved her. She is an amazing woman, mother, friend and someone I had the pleasure of knowing growing up. She did a good job of raising her children and others like me that considered her their mom. Heaven has another and special angel, RIP Mary Ashby.

Dear Ashby family,

Some of my favorite memories of Centralia are of the many times I spent with your family. Your mother was such a wonderful lady and I loved her so much. She was so proud of each and every one of you and I always sensed the love that each of you had for her. What a strong lady she was and the strength that she found in God was awesome. So very sorry for your loss and the loss of all who knew her.

Much love,

Marsha

There are no words to adequately describe the incredible person you were. Through all life's adversities you maintained your Faith and your Family. Without a complaint or terse word, you bore your crosses with dignity, faith and strength.
Your home was the center and Heart of our family.
While you will be missed you will never be forgotten and the mark you have left on our family will endure for all time.
Love with all my Heart
