Eunice Louise Reinkensmeyer, age 92, of the Hoffman area, passed away at 9:21 P.M. on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia, Illinois. She was born on March 28, 1923 in Hoyleton, Illinois, the daughter of Gustav and Hannah (Brinkman) Michael.  She married Walter Henry Reinkensmeyer on September 28, 1941 in Hoyleton, Illinois and he preceded her in death on January 9, 2003.

Mrs. Reinkensmeyer is survived by her four daughters, Sharon Kasten and husband Norman of Hoyleton, Illinois, Carolyn Steinkamp and husband Robert of Centralia, Illinois, Norma Gerrish and husband Harlan of O’Fallon, Illinois, and Jan Robert and husband Stan of Carlyle, Illinois, nine grandchildren, Kim Eggerman and husband Mike, Craig Kasten and wife Dawn, Nathan Kasten and wife Cindy, Julia Steinkamp, Dan Steinkamp and wife Joni, Stephen Gerrish and wife Meghan, Christine Gerrish, Tim Robert and wife Julie, and Jessica Benhoff and husband Kyle, 16 great grandchildren, Jared Eggerman, Adam Eggerman, Claire Eggerman, Blake Kasten, Paige Kasten, Zachary Kasten, Carly Kasten, Matthew Steinkamp, Josi Page and husband Brett, Shayne Kempfer, Laci Kempfer, Taylor Robert, Jacob Robert, Peyton Benhoff, Austyn Benhoff and Harper Benhoff, two great-great grandchildren, Braxton Steinkamp and Macey Page, one brother, LeeRoy Michael and wife Leola of St. Peters, Missouri, one sister, LaVerne Klosterman of Pinckneyville, Illinois and many nieces and nephews.  Mrs. Reinkensmeyer was looking forward to the birth of great grandson Gerrish.

In addition to her husband of 61 years, Mrs. Reinkensmeyer was preceded in death by her parents, infant daughter, Bernice Reinkensmeyer, infant grandson, Douglas Todd Steinkamp, sister, Goldie Furgerson and husband Edd Furgerson, and brother-in-law, Reverend Keith Klosterman.    

Mrs. Reinkensmeyer is a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoffman, Illinois, where she belonged to the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League.  She liked collecting dishes and Roseville Pottery with her husband.  After her retirement, Mrs. Reinkensmeyer enjoyed traveling with her husband. She cherished the time she spent with her family and friends.  Mrs. Reinkensmeyer was a homemaker and farm wife and loved growing flowers. 

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoffman, Illinois with Pastor Stephen Krenz officiating.  Interment will follow in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Hoffman, Illinois.  Friends may call from 9:00 A.M until the time of services at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday at the church.  Mrs. Reinkensmeyer cherished her church and church family.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoffman in lieu of flowers and will be received at the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois.  Please view the online obituary, send condolences or share memories with Mrs. Reinkensmeyer’s family at www.moranfuneralhome.net or on Facebook.
